When we talk about successful businesses, we often think of boardrooms, presentations, and polished leadership. But for many women running small and medium businesses in India, success looks very different. It is not about giving perfect speeches or building big offices, it is about managing ten things at once, every single day.
Today, women own around 20 percent of all small and medium enterprises in the country. That means more than 13 million women are running businesses, many from their homes, villages, or small towns. They sell everything from homemade pickles to digital marketing services. And they do it while also taking care of their families, homes, and communities.
As India pushes forward towards inclusive economic growth, investing in women entrepreneurs is not just a matter of representation it is smart business. Supporting them through better access to funding, training, and digital infrastructure will ensure that their impact is not just felt locally, but nationally.
Sectors such as handicrafts, organic food, beauty, apparel, digital services, and wellness are being reimagined by women who bring deep understanding, creativity, and resilience to the table.
They may not have time to give a masterclass. But every single day, through hard work and determination, they are giving us a lesson in what real entrepreneurship looks like.
