About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Associate – Statutory Audit to support audit engagements for Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs). The role involves assisting in statutory audits, financial reviews, regulatory compliance checks, and ensuring adherence to RBI guidelines, Companies Act provisions, and applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting statutory audits of NBFC clients in accordance with auditing standards.
• Review financial statements, schedules, and disclosures for accuracy and compliance.
• Verify loan portfolios, interest income, provisioning, NPA classification, and related financial records.
• Evaluate internal controls and identify audit observations, process gaps, and risk areas.
• Ensure compliance with RBI regulations, Companies Act, Ind AS, and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Prepare audit working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Perform analytical reviews, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with client teams for data collection, audit queries, and documentation.
• Support seniors/managers in preparation and finalization of audit reports.
• Maintain confidentiality, audit quality standards, and professional ethics.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of statutory audit procedures and accounting principles.
• Understanding of NBFC operations, loan accounting, provisioning norms, and RBI guidelines.
• Familiarity with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and Companies Act provisions.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/audit software.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in NBFC audits or financial services sector.
• Exposure to loan management systems and ERP platforms.
• Understanding of internal financial controls (IFC) and risk assessment.
• Willingness to travel for client audits, if required.
